A Day in My Shoes

As an attempt to further illustrate my life and personality to you, I have decided to describe a regular school day. I can't make my "normal" day very accurate, because every single day is unique and full of surprises, but I'll try anyway. :)

I can never wake up. I can usually sleep through anything, including three alarms. So, in the morning, when my fourth alarm goes off at 6:00 AM (my first goes off at 5:40, my second at 5:53, and my third at 5:56), I usually count to ten and lumber out of bed. I get ready, collect my stuff, and sometimes eat. I arrive at the bus stop at about 6:54, and spend my time on the bus listening to music, trying to get motivated for the long day ahead of me.

I take three out of four classes each day. This year is going to be rough, because I am taking three honors classes and my first AP class, along with two other regular classes. When I get finished with school, I carpool with two of my teammates to the gym. It is a fifteen minute drive to the Black Diamond Gymnastics, which is where we train. Training starts at 1:30, and we get there at around 1:10, so we use the extra time to get some homework done.

On a regular day at gym, we will warm up and stretch for 30 minutes, do three events (each for 45 minutes), have a fifteen minute break, do another event for 45 minutes, then condition for 45 minutes and stretch. To save you the trouble of doing math, each practice is 4.5 hours long, ending at 6:00. I usually get home around 6:30. I then eat dinner, and make lists. Lots and lots of lists. I have trouble remembering things and so I have started writing down everything, and I do mean everything. It has actually helped me quite a lot, and I feel a lot more confident going into class that I haven't missed anything. On a good day, I can get to bed around 9:30. On a not-so-good day, I will stay up until midnight. One those nights, when I finally go to bed, I usually look like this:

So that is my regular school day. Lots of hard work, but very rewarding.

  1. I love lists too! Sticky notes are my best friends. :)
