A Day by the Bay

There are officially only 1 and 1/2 days left of this camp, and I've been trying to savor every moment. I'm going to miss the people, the TA's and the unique experiences from NSLC. Today, we spent a few hours on the pier and then came back for some lectures and a talent show!

Pretty much the first thing we did when we got up in the morning was go to the exploratorium. The nice thing was that it was an hour bus ride so we could sleep a little more, and we didn't really have to get up that early in the first place. Oh yeah, and we could wear casual clothes. I haven't really talked about the attire we're allowed/required to wear here. It's very strict. There are three different categories, proffesional, buisness-casual, and casual, and each event is assigned one category. For the ENTIRE DAY, we got to where casual clothes. Woohoo!

Anyway, we got to wander and explore. There were some really interesting and fun things to play with, so that was super cool. Next we went over to the pier and again were allowed to explore in groups of three or more. We went to eat first because we were all starving, and ended up going to a pizza place that was okay because everywhere else was jam-packed. Then, as we digested, we went to watch the seals flop around and on top of each other. Then, we went to get crepes!! Bad decision. Too much food. We walked in and out of souvenir shops and t-shirt shops but nothing ever caught my eye. I'm still working on getting a berkeley sweatshirt; I've been down to the shop three times and they've always been closed. But of course there are no hours posted, because that would just be too convenient!

Oh yeah, a toilet fountain.
This was a huge mirror that looked a lot cooler in person. You can see it's
flipped everything but it's really clear.

Our failed attempt at paying the pizza bill. Because it's just too darn
easy to split it.

The two lectures were combined in a way because they were both by Mike Walsh. The second part was a very interesting yet frustrating game. I would be very hard to explain over paper, but take my word for it.

We got a little more done for the presentation. Again, we have only a few details left to prepare. We used about twenty minutes of our time to prepare for the talent show. Yeah....... it was special. We did a little "dance" to YMCA but changed the lyrics to "young docs" and "NSLC". Ha, funny story....... We were at the talent show, some cheerleader did a roundoff so I got all competitive and whatnot. I did a flic lay, of course from the persuading of my group. Whoops!

There's a ton going on tomorrow and I really need to get to bed!! :)
